57 of the 59 here have 12 doors — a 12-door box opens one a day and finishes on Christmas Eve. The others run 10 and 13, and the shorter ones start partway through the month: a 12-door box opens on 13 December. Six 10 ml perfumes, one of them an extrait, and six small candles from one British house for 109 GBP, every door named before you buy. Rated on the list: it is a discovery set in drawers, twelve days rather than 24, and the bottles are travel sizes, but the count against Sentier's own 529 GBP is hard to argue with.

When do you start a 12-day advent calendar?
On 13 December, if the doors run to 24 and finish on Christmas Eve; on 14 December if the box has a door 25. The numbering on the box wins over any general rule — every length is dated on our start-date page.
Is a 12-day advent calendar the same as the Twelve Days of Christmas?
No. The Twelve Days of Christmas begin on Christmas Day and run to 5 January. A calendar sold as "12 days" is a countdown like any other, just shorter: twelve doors leading up to Christmas rather than twelve days following it.
Are 12-day advent calendars better value?
