Drinks by the Dram 12 Dram Japanese Whisky Advent Calendar 2026 by the numbers
How each one is countedEvery figure is computed from the record at build time and set against the median of the same season and the same kind of contents. Door price is the price on the box over its doors; the value multiple is what the contents come to at retail over that price; full size is the retailer’s own marking. Where the record cannot support a figure, the page leaves it out rather than guessing. The definitions, one by one →Each figure against the median of this season's alcohol shelf — 51 calendars. Green is the better side of the median, red the worse; the median is printed so you can disagree.

Our Drinks by the Dram 12 Dram Japanese Whisky Advent Calendar 2026 review
Our verdict
The best value of the bottler's Japanese boxes: Yamazaki 12, Hakushu 12, Yoichi and Miyagikyo let you set Suntory against Nikka, and the 21-year-old blend is a treat. A third of it is everyday blends, and it is twelve days rather than the full Advent.
Reviewed by Max Zeshut · 2026 season · How we review
What works
- All twelve whiskies named in advance
- Yamazaki 12 and Hakushu 12 in a 79.95 GBP box
- Suntory and Nikka side by side, plus Mars and Akashi
- A 21-year-old blend
What does not
- Twelve days, not the full Advent
- Toki, Hatozaki and Akashi are entry-level blends
