When do you start a 12-day advent calendar?
On 13 December, if the doors run to 24 and finish on Christmas Eve; on 14 December if the box has a door 25. The numbering on the box wins over any general rule; every length is dated on our start-date page.
Is a 12-day advent calendar the same as the Twelve Days of Christmas?
No. The Twelve Days of Christmas begin on Christmas Day and run to 5 January. A calendar sold as "12 days" is a countdown like any other, just shorter: twelve doors leading up to Christmas rather than twelve days following it.
Are 12-day advent calendars better value?
